History of Health Plus Chiropractic

History of Health Plus ChiropracticThe origins of health plus chiropractic are traced to a chiropractic Service commenced in 1961 by Dr. Frederick Kroh in his garage at Seven Hills. Due to the urging of his satisfied patients he shortly set up business in Capri House in Station Street (upstairs above the current dry cleaners).  This clinic served its many patients well for about twenty years and a number of regale tales of the trouble they found in trying to climb the very steep stairs and the ease they descended following their treatment.

In December 1981 the building was gutted by fire, Dr. Kroh contemplated retirement but was persuaded to re-establish which he did behind number 2 Station Street, beside the railway.  Shortly after, in 1984 he moved back into the "high street" into number 12 and it was in the next March that Anthony O'Reilly started as a part-time associate.  Unfortunately, Dr. Kroh's health was deteriorating and in June 1988 he sold the business to Anthony O'Reilly who officially named it "Wentworthville Chiropractic Clinic".

Within months a change of office layout was completed which allowed the employment of reception staff and chiropractic assistants in early 1989.  The rate of growth continued, the hours of service grew and Sam Dona was placed as an associate chiropractor in 1992.  This long narrow building had become outgrown so that Wentworthville Chiropractic clinic moved into larger and more comfortable offices at 59 Dunmore Street in January 1994.  Expansion was sustained with increased reception and assistant staff allowing for the placement of a second associate and an experiment in offering massage therapy services. Due to the clear demand for a variety of services and lack of space, the business relocated across the street at 52 Dunmore Street in a purpose built facility.   The company was renamed "Health plus Chiropractic" to reflect the change in modalities offered and style.

Massage therapy was an instant hit as was the new associate Paul Trofa and within months psychologists Angelo Schibeci and Josephine Capitani and podiatrist Dollene Hadjetian became key elements of the team.Chiropractic services of the office were further enlarged by engaging Rachael Veronesi. Massage therapy has been a great success and largely due to the skill of the Massage Therapists Gary Fairhurst, Meaghan Brady and Sara Egan. The early psychological serves focused on neurofeedback for ADD and ADHD and counselling and now include retraining in breathing and heart variability and classes for meditation.  The clinical expertise of our podiatrist Dollene has allowed her facility to expand and to share the workload with her husband Ara Hadjetian.
